There are many roads leading into the East Neuk, several main and many small back roads offering some of the best scenery you will find in Scotland. We have detailed below the two major roads leading in from Edinburgh and Dundee with road numbers and exits so you can't go wrong.
From Edinburgh
After crossing Forth Road Bridge, continue on M90.
Cut off at junction 2A, signposted Kirkacldy, Glenrothes
At next round about take the 1st exit
Continue until next roundabout, take the 3rd exit towards Kirkcaldy.
At next roundabout take the 1st exit, A915.
Go straight on at the next roundabout towards Leven.
In Leven go straight through roundabout still on A915.
Continue until you come to Lundin Links, this is the first of the East Neuk villages.
You will continue on the to Lower Largo, Upper Largo, there is a cut off (A917) for Elie and Earlsferry which continues on to St Monans, Pittenweem, Anstruther and Cellardyke, Kilrenny, Crail, and Kingsbarns. If you do not cut off to Elie and continue on the (B942) you will find yourself in Colinsburgh.
From Dundee
Coming across the Tay bridge from Dundee you go straight ahead at the roundabout (A92) and head for St Andrews.
At the end of the dual carriageway take the first left for St Andrews (A92).
At the small roundabout in Leuchars take the right exit towards Guardbridge (A919).
Continue on to the next roundabout and turn first left across the small bridge (A91).
In St Andrews you go straight through the first roundabout and left at the next.
Continue on this road and follow the road round the sharp right hand bend and again through the next sharp right.
Take the next opening on the left towards Anstruther.
Continue on to the next small roundabout and take the first left. Go up the hill and take the right exit at the top of the hill towards Anstruther (B9131).
This road will bring you into Anstruther.
