Kathleen Wilson is a mixed media textile artist who works across disciplines, combining a wide variety of different techniques and materials across her varied repertoire. Her work is informed in part by the flora and fauna found along the coastline of the East Neuk but as an avid traveller and nature lover, it is also inspired by trips to more exotic locations. Bird life is a recurring motif in Kathleen’s work.
Amongst her characterful collection of avian textile sculptures you’ll find familiar species as well as more fanciful varieties.
Kathleen is a self-trained artist, coming to crafts later in life after a lifelong career in medicine. Thirty years as a pathologist has helped develop Kathleen’s fine eye for detail and precision hand skills.
