Sheila Caldwell lives in the pretty fishing village of Pittenweem in the East Neuk of Fife which is home to many artists and writers. She took up artwork just a few years ago and the results show that it is never too late to start something new. Sheila delights in trying out various techniques working with acrylic, oils, pastel, watercolour, inks and encaustic and has recently enjoyed creating felting pictures from merino wool and silk.
Her pastime has grown to be a great interest and she now successfully exhibits at the prestigious Pittenweem Arts Festival each August and the East Neuk Open Studios and has previously exhibited in Dunkeld, Pitlochry Festival Theatre, Kirkcaldy Museum Art Gallery, Jerdan Gallery in Crail, Elie Old Post Office and Pavilion and the Byre Theatre St. Andrews among other venues. Many of her paintings have gone overseas.
