Directions My studio is in the garden which is accessed via a candy striped gate at the rear of the house. Parking is available on the street outside the house or in the Orry Carpark which is 400 metres from the house, the temple car park is 1000 metres from the house, both which are sign posted as you enter the village and are free to park all day.
Susan studied Jewellery Design at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art a few years ago ! Gaining a B.A(hons) in Jewellery and Silversmithing. Having graduated she established a small jewellery workshop in Falkland working as a jobbing jewellers doing repairs and commissions. Around this time Susan was asked to do some temporary lecturing, which is where she discovered a love of teaching. Having been offered a full time job at the then Leven and Glenrothes technical college and spent the next 32 years under its many changing names. Susan was instrumental in creating the Art & Design Department from NC level through to HND. During the last 10 years of her career at Fife college she taught the Jewellery Design courses and was also an associate lecturer for Queen Margaret University. Having taken early retirement Susan is now able to focus her creativity on her own work. Susan’s love of texture and pattern all inspires her to start sketching, from the sketchbook book Susan’s work develops at the workbench in her studio, experimenting with different techniques to give the desired results for each piece. Susan’s work is bespoke, all hand made and features hand crochet silver, freshwater pearls and semiprecious stones. She works in precious metals, silver, gold and platinum, undertaking both repairs and commissions
I am a designer jeweller who produces all work to a high standard within my garden studio in fife. I have a degree in jewellery and silversmithing and have over 40 yrs worth of experience. My unique products are Hand crocheted silver wire, this produces very light weight, tactile pieces of jewellery which have a unique strength due to the method of construction. I work in silver and gold combined with a range of semi precious stones and freshwater pearls.
