Angela’s studio, Bluegrass Pottery, is in the beautiful fishing village of Cellardyke in the East Neuk of Fife. It is an area with so much beautiful light which in turn brings colours out in all their shades and vibrancy and she is often out recording images seen with her camera.
It is very inspiring, and she loves to work with exploring how her drawings can enhance a form, and how a form can be designed to show off a drawing. Working with clay is not something she sees in isolation. It is all tied up with the landscape, the natural world, and goes all the way to the food we grow and eat and drink.
When designing she thinks about all these things, the choices we make and how they give us our identity. Angela says her studio is a calm peaceful place to be and allows for a natural pace to work at.
