Kay Willmot

Ceramics and prints

Kay Willmot is an artist living in Pittenweem, and graduated with a First Class BA (Hons) in Ceramic Design from Falmouth College of Art in 1999. Inspired by explorations of Shetland, Skomer and the Isle of May, Kay works in multi-fired ceramic, crafting lifelike seabirds including puffins, gannets, razorbills and guillemots, each completely unique. Her sculptures are predominantly white stoneware with fine molochite, and she works in a range of firing and glazing techniques, including low-fired crackle glazes. Kay also works in printmaking, developing her interest in techniques such as etching and aquatints of the villages and coastlines of the East Neuk.
