John Kelly

John studied Fine Art at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design and graduated in 2013 as a mature student. In the same year, he was Pittenweem’s Arts Festival bursary award winner. John’s work has developed a lot since graduating and he now focuses mainly on portraiture. In between commissions he spends most of his time painting musicians and film stars he admires most. He is forever looking for inspiration and new ideas to incorporate into his work. John loves playing with colour, and enjoys the contrast of black and white portraits painted over bright bold colours, drawing inspiraton from artists such as Warhol.
